The Project:

Rome, 1st century BCE: In a time of transition, the inner workings of the city are left to its people, many of whom have united into syndicates called collegia. As a collegium leader, carry the community to prosperity, whether by gaining the admiration of your countrymen or by working in the shadows to undermine your opponents. Seek wise counsel in your dealings, be they above or below board, but keep a sharp eye out lest one of your advisors decide they could do a better job.

Know that every decision will have consequences beyond your sight and that history shan’t unfold the same way twice. When a mighty warrior is brought before you, rumored to be a legendary Amazon, will you take her in and leverage those whispers for greater notoriety and underworld influence? Or will you put her on display in the gladiator pits, for huge crowds and even bigger profits? And who’s to say this Amazon won’t have her own plans?

Your every decision will send ripples out across the face of Rome, whether so slight as to pass unnoticed beneath a paper boat or of such gravity to topple a nation.

And remember: fortes fortuna iuvat!

The Team:

Art: Alison Cooley makes, does, and thinks things. She is a sometimes artist, curator, writer, educator and art historian based in Toronto.

Writing and Research: Hadley Staite is a current student in Classics at the University of Toronto. The time for dreaming of Rome has passed. Now is the time to rebuild it!

Programming and Game Design: Berv has been wading further and further out into the swirling waters of game design and now seeks to kick it up a notch. An incredible collaboration, you say? Don’t mind if I do!

Super Dungeon Bros

The Project:

Originally prototyped for the OUYA console, Super Dungeon Bros quickly exploded in all directions into an action-packed multiplayer dungeon crawler with a penchant for puzzles and a comical edge. Play as the raddest medieval warriors Axl, Ozzie, Lars, & Freddie, from Blackwölf University’s most infamous fraternity, Beta Rho Omega. Slay anything and everything in your path from nefarious undead to legendary beasts in your quest to bring honor back to your fraternity and pay off your totally bogus tuition fees. Outsmart the devious booby traps and raid the tombs for loot and plunder; don’t forget to chug the vintage brewskis, you’ll need your strength and courage to face the horrors of passing Intro to Dungeoneering 101.

Frantic 1-4 player action offers a full range of deadly weapons to help you hack and slash through the monsters that fill the maze-like catacombs. Descend through dozens of levels of cursed tombs that get harder and deadlier the closer you get to the diabolical dungeon boss. Featuring full voice overs and a fresh, deviously comical script, Super Dungeon Bros by React! The Team:

React! Games is an award winning video game developer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Founded in 2008, we’ve produced over 30 games, including the classic remake of Archon, and specialize in mobile/tablet and multi-platform development. We’re small, agile, and fiercely passionate, and while we’ve done our share of client work, our gamer hearts lie squarely in the Indie games space. Barrels & Bulls

The Project:

Barrels & Bulls is an Action Strategy game that puts you in control of a pair of rodeo clowns on their quest for greatness, or at least another night of hot beans. Draw out paths for your clowns to follow to help keep each other from meeting the dangerous end of the burger. Distract bulls and protect lazy cowboys using whacky tools, then jump in a barrel right before getting shishkabobbed. As you progress you’ll face not only some truly fierce bovine, you’ll also have to deal with a series of escalatingly hightech robobulls. Luckily the tools you have get better too! You might start with a moldy wooden barrel, but before long you’ll have rocketpropelled bull blasters. Stay in the rodeo circuit long enough, and you’ll be the best clowning team ever!

The Team:

One and a Half Beards is a two man team composed of an artist and a designer on a quest to make whacky, verbcentric games. We’re based out of Austin, TX and powered on breakfast tacos. We like our games to have a sense of humor, to be easy to pick up, but hard to master. We’re not concerned with getting soldiers to shoot zombies, we’re concerned with how monkeys and dogs would fight in space. We have fun making our games, and we think you’ll have fun playing them.

The Project:

“Hunters of the Dead” is a roguelike real-time tactical Strategy/ Rpg taking place in a world of terror.

You are a “Hunter”! Your aim is to defeat the evil forces of the undead through a series of choices and battles. You have to use your wits while you explore the city, in order to secure the buildings you need, which can provide valuable resources such as weapons, gadgets and additional hunters! But you have to be very careful, because once the undead get to you, you won’t have to worry only for your life but for the lives of your fellow hunters as well. If one of them dies, he is gone for good!

Our team is called Traptics, and we are many! Just kidding we are only three people currently on this project, one game designer, one programmer and one 2D artist. We are doing our best to complete “Hunters of the Dead” but we need your help in order to purchase music and SFX for our game along with some other features.

Ten Aces

The Project:

“Ten Aces” is a tactical turn-based Rpg emphasizing on the players’ ability to predict the enemy’s actions

Ten Aces are 10 demigod siblings destined to be at war. Every one of them will be playable, along with many more characters. The game will include Permadeath and based on the players decisions and actions, the end of each Ace’s story will be different. Permadeath will exist for your characters and the enemies’. The combination of all the stories will result in a unique “ending” completely different in each playthrough, and completely different from what the other players have experienced. How would a truly dynamic story in an epic fantasy setting sound to you?

Over a year ago five of us founded this team hoping to give life to “Ten Aces”. But we are facing obstacles. We need to cover expenses of the game, because as you can imagine “Ten Aces” is a quite large project. We hope you will support us in our effort!

Okhlos

Okhlos

The Project:

Okhlos is a game about an angry mob of ancient Greeks who set out to free the world from the gods’ tyrannical reign, while destroying pretty much everything in their way.
You will have to lead the mob throughout the main Greek cities, facing in each of them unique challenges based around the god that is worshipped there. You will have lots of fighting in Sparta, plenty of thinking to do in Athens and a lot of partying when facing Dionysius. You get the idea! Also, each unit will have its unique set of skills, making the mob unique each time you play. There will be heroes, warriors, philosophers, chickens, slaves and much more!
It is not easy to fit Okhlos into a genre. It has plenty of action but also some strategy and puzzles, sometimes all mixed in a weird way. What is sure about it, is that it has amazing 2D pixel-art sprites in a 3D world with dynamic lighting, and it is aimed to be released in early 2014 for PC/Mac/Linux.

The Team:

Okhlos is being developed by a pair of game developers from Argentina, Roque and Sebastian. Hi! Almost two years ago we left our jobs in the gaming industry to start making our own games and that is what we are doing today, working full time on Okhlos, our second project. The Project:

SpaceHawk is a top down space shooter game that offers a unique mix of frantic action and RPG elements.

Every ship in universe has fully customizable colour schemes and offers unique abilities such as shields, engine boosters, repair systems and temporary power boosts so that whatever ship you pilot has its own unique feel and personality to match your style.

The story centres on the galactic conflict between 4 private sectors, where allegiances rise and fall and a mercenary has everything to gain.

SpaceHawk will take you on a journey to dozens of different planets to complete dangerous contracts and do battle in any way you choose. Weather you fight for a side in this conflict is up to you, lay down allegiances or fight purely for profit, the choice is yours in the midst of a galactic war waged for centuries.

Key Features:

Learn the story behind each of the 4 sectors, through a fully realised campaign.

Engage in challenging Boss Fights and ship to ship combat.

Explore lush landscapes and settings that are individually themed to each race.

The Team:

KittenBoxx Studios is a small team of 4 graduates from Staffordshire University; we all have a real passion for engaging and different games and believe that’s exactly what we can deliver to the current market. Working tirelessly to see the release of this project, the team have thrown every spare hour we have into it to ensure it’ll be the very best it can be. Each member of the team has received awards in the past ranging from Make Something Unreal 2013 to a Picasso award for Best Art.

The Project:

Imagine a world in ruins. All civilization as we know it has collapsed and only magic prevails. A specific type of magic: Archmagia. There are four elder guilds of powerful Archmages: Rune Carvers, Technomancers, Necromancers and Shamans, who are experts in twisting and molding mana to cast amazing spells and summon mighty creatures. These guilds have been preparing for the final battle. Now, war has been declared and the Archmages will draw upon their arcane powers to conquer their enemies and gain the final victory.

In Archmagia, you will cast a great variety of spells. You will also summon awesome creatures and command them so that they will crush anyone who is crazy enough to oppose your powers.

Archmagia is a trading card game with two great innovations:

A strategic component: creatures and spells are deployed over a real 3D battlefield with stunning visual effects.
Each Archmage will have his own chamber. Chambers will be fully customizable: for example you will have the ability to add ancient artifacts, and powerful items. Your Archmage will have his chambers teleported to the battlefield, so a great chamber will add an important strategic component to the battles the Archmages will fight.

The Team:

Many-Worlds is an augmented reality company created back at 2009. We mainly develop multi-platform augmented reality software. We have a great background developing with Unity 3D and creating amazing 3D content for our apps. We have been looking for the opportunity to work in this game for several years. Now, we have decided to make it real, and we are financially supporting the development with great efforts. We are pretty excited about it and we want it to become a reality. Out team is currently formed by a programmer (Alvaro), a character designer (Adrián), and a generalist CG artist (Elias).

The Project:

_speed_ is a high speed anti gravity combat racing game. Pilot can choose to race from one of 12 teams or design their own craft from colours to stats. At the moment pilots can navigate 6 circuits (12 including revers versions) in 4 different gamemodes from time trial to eliminator, by release we hope to have around 12 circuits (24 including reverse) and 8 gamemodes to choose from.

_speed_ will features two ways to play, career mode will send pilots through a progression based campaign completing tournaments, earning money and upgrading your craft. Arcade mode has everything unlocked from the start allowing you to practice any circuit on any mode straight away. We also have plans for leaderboards for every circuit, speed class, and gamemode allowing you to compete for the fastest time and post them online.
As previously mentioned pilots will be able to customise their craft from design to colour, and stats. Select a base design then patterns, details and colours which allow you to create your own craft.

The Team:

_speed_ is being made by a single developer in England, I started this about project a year ago when I was 15 and I’ve been working on it in my free time inbetween school. After many small failed project that never saw the light of day this is the closest to being finished. The IDG should allow me to but the master collection of GameMaker Studio meaning I can export to many more platforms such as linux and ouya. Lejendary

The Project:

Lejendary is a quick, pick-up-and-play roguelike. It removes all of the complexities and gets down to what really matters: killing enemies and getting sweet loot!

Inspiration for the game came from games such as Desktop Dungeons and Paramaters.

I’m currently working on it with Javascript + HTML5, but it’s planned to be a freeware downloadable game available for PC and Mac. If the reception to this version is good, I’d like to expand the game with some paid content.
