99 Levels To Hell

99levelsToHell (1)

The project:

99 Levels to Hell is a platform shooter with lots of guns, upgrades, magic, traps and monsters to kill.

99 Levels to Hell is a rogue-like, which means surviving is key and every time you play you get a new set of levels to play.

When you complete 10 levels, the 10th being a boss-fight, you unlock a door to the next dungeon.

Hidden in the darkness of the dungeons are shops, casinos and elevators. And if you search the dungeons carefully, you might find secret rooms that unlock more of the story, and free new adventures, you can play as in your next game

The dev:

My name is Bo Blond, I’ve been developing games for about 4 years. This summer I decided to try and turn my spare-time project into a real game.

The game is developed by me alone. Zaxis Games, my old job, are going to help me release the game. All in all I might have spent about 6 to 7 months on the game and I plan to release it early next.

Who are you ?

I’m a poor guy who lives in a trailer with his wife and two kids. I’m a self taught programmer / designer who’s made his own games in that past and worked as a designer and lead tester at the 3DO Company.

What project will the Indie Dev Grant be helping you complete?

Plethora 2012 Disclosure is an old-school, brutal side-scrolling shooter with unique mouse aimed secondary weapons. The only real feedback I have gotten so far is that the graphics suck. I would use the money to hire someone to redo the backgrounds and some of the sprites, depending on how much the grant could pay for. In its current state, the game has to be played to see how fun it is. People can’t seem to get past the cover to read the book :( Info on the game including screenshots, video, and a playable demo can be found here:

Tweet Galaxy

Who are you ?

My name is JP and I am a relatively unknown indie game developer in Toronto, Canada. My ‘company’ is – I put it in quotes because it’s barely an official registered company with no profit margin to speak of. I make freeware games, mostly, and I teach part-time at a college to help keep the lights on at my home.

What project will the Indie Dev Grant be helping you complete?

The game I’d like the IDG’s financial backing for is Tweet Galaxy. What is Tweet Galaxy? I’m glad you asked! Tweet Galaxy is a Shmup which pulls friends and enemies from Twitter and keeps track of top performers on a server-side leaderboard. Those tweeps who lead the high scores will appear as very strong AI bosses. If you can defeat them, you will take their place on the leaderboard and become the next feared power in the Twitterverse. The game is coded in HTML5/JavaScript and will be freeware.

Who are you ?

We are a small french indie game studio composed of three developers; we are currently working on our first project called “Hexodius”.

What project will the Indie Dev Grant be helping you complete?

Hexodius is an arena twin stick shooter mixed with some dungeon crawler mechanics. To survive from different types of droid enemies you can choose your equipments among a lot of unique and powerful items. Use your two thumbs and your brain to make your way through the Hexodius complex.

Hexodius features:

-A story mode which combines exploration gameplay inspired by board games, arena shooting and tactical equipment choice. You’ll have to make your way out from a complex scattered across dimensions ruled by a crazy AI.

-An arcade mode wich focus on the shooting experience and the scoring!

This project is meant to be released on downloadable platforms on PC and XBOX 360.

We are a small team, and this project is self funded so far. The Indie Dev Grant would help us to finish and promote the game, we particularly need to add new sounds and new music.
